Becky joined Venture Investors in 2012 on a part-time basis after having performed the financial statement audits for VIESF II, III, and IV, and is now the Controller at Venture Investors LLC. Her primary responsibility at the firm is to maintain accurate accounting records and prepare timely financial statements for the Funds and the management company. She is in charge of payroll and all employee benefits and also oversees the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions that are performed in large part by the Office Manager. On an annual basis, Becky is responsible for coordinating the financial statement audit process and tax preparation with the third party CPA firm that Venture Investor engages.
Shortly before Becky joined the Venture Investors team, she started a small consulting practice where she offered general accounting and human resources services to start-up companies. Two of her clients were Venture Investor Fund V portfolio companies.
Prior to working with Venture Investors, Becky worked over four years as an Audit Senior Associate with two different international CPA firms, Grant Thornton and BDO. She specialized in audits of biotechnology companies, including audits of two VIESF III portfolio companies – Nerites Corp. and ZyStor Therapeutics. Becky also performed a number of audits on manufacturing and SEC companies.
Becky and her husband like to travel whenever they get the chance and also play competitive volleyball together. In her spare time, Becky also enjoys hiking, running and nature photography.
